Books summaries and presentations
Good afternoon!
For work I just finished reading two books: "Sustainable Resource Management" and "Globale Rohstoffpolitik".
"Sustainable Resource Managements" exposes the recent state of resources consumption (especially in Europe) and outlines a vision of a sustainable future. Thereby the lead authors Stefan Bringezu and Raimund Bleischwitz illustrate issues like problem-shifting (from car emissions to consumption of platinum group metals (PGMs for catalysts)) and present various "material flow analysis". Their vision is quite fantastic: an industry, which - like plants - uses a fixed range of elements to manufacture all needed materials (primarly from carbon: polymers for construction, consumption, ...). Combined with a "solarised technosphere" this industry should demonstrate the "industrial photosynthesis".

Book recommendation by Dennis Meadows: Plan B 4.0
Hello!
One more time... I want to present the book "Plan B 4.0" - it is a "plan to save civilization", written by Lester R. Brown, president of the Earth Policy institute.
The book was recommended to the "World Resource Youth Group" by Dennis Meadows.
In this Book Mr Brown exposes problems (especially a food crisis) and presents ambitious goals and solutions:
- Stabilizing population at 8 billion or lower
- Cutting net carbon dioxide emissions 80% by 2020
- Eradicating poverty
- Restore earth's natural systems
It is structured in three chapters:

First Materials
Hello all together!
First I want to upload materials I worked out in my job at the energy institut of Vorarlberg - just some general summaries:
1. Environmental Problems - A Summary: I call this document a "propgaganda paper". It exposes important facts about ecosystem degragation, biodiversity, agriculture, forests, water and it ends up with an abstract of a speak of Jared Diamonds (wrote "Collapse"). I hope you can use it to convince other people =) - mixed english and german
2. German summary about climate change
3. German abstract of "Wie viel verträgt unsere Erde noch" (summary)
