Katarzyna Negacz has studied International Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics and Law at the University of Warsaw, Poland. At present, she is the President of oikos International.
During her studies, she held a position of teacher preparing for civic education competitions. As a person strongly involved in the social aspects of sustainability she became a member of oikos Warsaw. Her interest in international relations, sustainability, globalization, world economic politics, and integration of the European Union are closely connected with the sustainable development issue. Amongst the events that she has co-organised are: a cycle of numerous weekly academic meetings with specialists from the world of diplomacy science and journalism, a panel discussion for sustainable economics Woman in public life, a seminar about Corporate Social Responsibility, an academic conference Antimissile defense in Poland, oikos Spring Meeting in Oslo. In February 2009 she was a delegate at Cambridge Model of European Council. She has co-organised oikos Spring Meeting in Oslo. She was a part of oikos Media The CEMS "Model UNFCCC" is being held in Barcelona during May 2009. oikos Media role was to blog about the event, catch all the international news and the juicy gossip as well.
Her reasons to join the World Resource Forum are to collect fresh ideas to introduce new approaches to oikos network by inspiring innovating projects, broaden the knowledge of new trends in world patterns of resource extraction and talk to decision makers and top thinkers on their in-depth views concerning current situation and remedies.
"I believe that each new voice of global resource consumption issues is a challenge and we should to treat it individually and creatively. Therefore, being at the forum where the top experts discuss and present their views is a unique opportunity to report the best synergy effects".
The additional advantage of participation is to have a closer look on Asian approach to broader issues of global resource consumption, especially concerning all dimensions of sus-tainability to create a dialogue with interested student groups on the continent, based on the newest research.
