Site Network:

Thanks a lot!

Three days in Davos - ten students among the participants - and this blog as the outcome! Time to  thank those who got this project going - and made it a success!

First thanks goes to all the student bloggers: Barbara Haller, Harriet Jackson, Guillaume Cettou, Joss Bracker, Kate Negacz, Katharina Cromme (for the videos), Leo Caprez, Nike Möhle, Nora Steuerer and Xavier Ballansat. Your motivation, skills and energy are visible in the many, many blog posts you created in this blog - and the discussions that these sparked!

The Student Reporter project was a joint effort by a lot of people - inspiring, guiding and supporting the project. The Mercator Foundation, and especially Nadine Felix, has not only initiated the project, but also shaped, run and supported it from beginning to end. Martin Birtel from EMPA has given us great access to the conference. And the idea to blog from this event goes back to the Barcelona Protocol blog, initiated by my dear friend Katharina together with Kate.

During the event, Nico Luchsinger, Yvonne von Hunnius and Frank Horn have inspired the students with their knowledge and passion for writing, blogging and video-shooting. Frank Horn (who works at cisco) has also provided us with the nice Flip Cameras (check our youtube channel on that!).

Special thanks goes to the inspiring guests at the  Student Dinner – Faye Duchin, Junko Edahiro and Fritz Hinterberger. We are grateful for them to share their experience in sustainability in short input talks and extended discussions.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the photos that Brigit Rufer has shot on the last day to document the Student Reporters.

I would also like to thank all conference participants, who have been open and welcoming to the curious inquiries of the Student Reporters. Greetings also to Ashok Khosla who, as chair during the last conference day, has made it possible for the Student Repoters to present their workshop summaries in the panel sessions.

And now?

Last greetings go to all blog readers and commentors out there! You have been part of this exprience. Keep on reading and commenting!

Thanks to you!

Hey all: well done, was great, was funny, was sharp, to the point, wise, down to earth ... excellent work. Please do this more! And next time make it even more known to the other meeting participants, now most of them discovered it sort of by chance .... I would have loved some more responses, debates ... on the net ... which then can have its benefits in the real discussions (like IISD Earth Negotiation Bulletin does in the official big UN conferences; their 'in the corridor' blogs have influence on the negotiations!
Thanks again, and see you again next time,
