We have finally got a chance to post a rough description of the international LINDAU GROUP on the website of the World Resources Forum. The international LINDAU GROUP was founded by Prof. Friedrich “Bio” Schmidt-Bleek and Prof. Bernd Meyer late in 2007.

The Lindau Group is an epistemic community of experts interested in reconciling economic theory with the way economic processes are governed by the laws of nature. The founding members hail from a number of European countries including Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The Lindau Group produced a first document describing the consensus they have reached so far (see here).

In parallel to the discourse of the economists of the Lindau Group, a second discourse is taking place among natural scientists and engineers. This discourse (science and engineering) was started via the Internet and has already produced a draft WRF declaration.

A new version will be published a few weeks after the preparation meeting in St. Gallen that takes place on September 19, 2008. If you still want to contribute to this discourse, please use the contact form.

The approach of the WRF is thus to facilitate two separate discourses on global resource consumption issues which will eventually be interlinked.
