Please see http://www.r2009.org/registration_wrf2009/reg_form1.php for details.
The R’09 Twin World Congress promotes innovative technologies and frameworks for resource management to improve material and energy efficiencies in the production, use, and recycling of materials.
The R’09 Twin World Congress is an example and an experiment in resource management: To be held simultaneously in two parts of the world – Davos in Switzerland and Nagoya in Japan – this congress will avoid many intercontinental flights, which are known to account for most of the resource demand of international congresses. The main halls at the two venues will be connected by teleconferencing technology system for four hours on September 14 and 15, when eight renowned plenary speakers will present their views to several hundred R’09 participants in Davos and Nagoya:
- Prof. Dennis Meadows, Director Institute for Policy & Social Science Research, Univ. of New Hampshire
- Prof. Hiroshi Esaki, The University of Tokyo
- Prof. Faye Duchin, Professor of Economics, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
- Prof. Chettiyappan Visvanathan, Asian Institute of Technology
- Prof. Guibin Jiang, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences
- Prof. Marina Fischer-Kowalski, Professor of Social Ecology at Klagenfurt University
- Prof. Shiro Saka, Kyoto University
- Dr. Helga Weisz (tbc), Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)
Looking forward to meeting you in Davos, we remain,
with best regards,
Dr. Xaver Edelmann, President of the World Resources Forum
Dr. Martin Birtel, Secretary General World Resources Forum
