Happy ending?
After a few days of inspirational debate, it was a shame that the forum fizzled out with a pedantic discussion about wording. An engineer who I had met on Monday had told me that he came here to learn about how policy decisions were made, and now he understands perfectly!
Dennis Meadows was right- the document should be simple. It is not going to be signed and become law; it is a general outline of what the World Resources Forum thinks should be done. Yes, in order for it to truely represent the views of the participants some consultation was necessary, but in the end the nit-picking over minor parts of the draft provided a perfect example of why it takes so long for true action to happen in this world.
