About WRF 2013
The WRF Association organises the next World Resources Forum Conference at the Davos Congress Center from October 6 – 9, 2013. Last year, WRF 2012 was successfully held in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 700 participants attended the event at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Browse through the 2012 meeting report (PDF) here.
Main conference topics at WRF 2013 are „Resource Efficiency and Governance“, „Sustainable Business and Industry“, “Sustainable Cities and Infrastructure”, and “Lifestyles and Education”. The attractive WRF program presents interesting plenary speeches by leading experts and personalities from politics, business and the academic fields.
Our conference guests can choose from a wide range of good-quality hotels in Davos. Upon check-in at the hotel reception, each WRF participant will be handed out an “All-inclusive” guest card which entitles to free public transport in Davos, including a number of cable cars which bring them up to the surrounding mountain peaks.
Tentatively scheduled are keynotes from the European Commission, Sylvie Lemmet, UNEP DTIE Director, Ernst Ulrich von Weizsaecker, co-chair International Resource Panel, and other high level policy makers. Stakeholders will meet up for discussion panels to answer critical questions posed by the moderator and the audience.
A high-level political debate on global resource governance will be organised in close cooperation with Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy and Reinhard Bütikofer (Members of European Parliament), and H.R.H. Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma, Special Envoy Natural Resources, of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
WRF 2013 will again provide a platform for externally organised workshops on specific topics (this year for example including a special briefing by the Club of Rome, as well as events organised by UNEP and UNIDO), and the traditional oral sessions and poster exhibition.
The conference will be enriched by various social events, starting with a welcome cocktail on Monday evening, the Banquet with music entertainment on Tuesday night, and ending with the farewell reception on Wednesday late afternoon. A number of companies and institutes will present their latest products and achievements in sustainability in a centrally placed exhibition space.
Included in the conference fee are the two cocktail receptions, the snacks and refreshments during the coffee breaks, as well as the buffet lunches with mainly local products. The WRF conference participants will be provided with free WLAN access during all the conference days.
Registration is open. For more information please write to our registration desk.
